People think you just aren't paying attention or moving soon enough - but you're simply not warned as far in advance as others are when you have latency. Without it, I wouldn't see AoEs until just before they triggered - making fights like Titan (any difficulty) very very difficult.

I've played a few MMOs on my current PC, but FF XIV is the only one that's required me to use Pingzapper to reduce network latency so I can avoid dying in raids. Having FIOS, I knew it wasn't a slow connection causing the issue. Thankfully this doesn't happen anymore with routing my traffic through Pingzapper. There were also times where everyone around me would freeze and I could move around and take actions, but they wouldn't have any effect until several seconds later, when it would all go over very rapidly. 20FPS is sufficient for combat not to appear choppy or to cause you any issues with video lag in raids (at least all the ones I've been in - and my FPS is in the 20s).
